400 years ago, the devoted followers of Lord Ramdas Swami in “Dasbodh Granth” used to say:
         
“Dev Ghadila Sonari,
Dev Otila Otari,
Ek Dev Ghadila Pathari Pashanacha”

That’s where our Otari tradition started, which means - “OTARI”- refers to those who do casting work. It involves melting metal and creating idols – they also make thrones , temple pinnacles (kalas), worship materials, decorative lamps, bells for home temples and large bells for temples. They craft various metal items, such as auspicious ornaments , karanda, panchpatra, and oil lamps, in different styles and metals. We pour our heart and soul into our craftsmanship. The Otari community are devoted followers of devotion, art and strength.

Our journey begins in the year 1960. It was our grandfather who started this business; he began with crafting silver karandas – traditional containers used in home temples to hold turmeric and vermilion. (haldi-kumkum)

His speciality was in the precise and artistic design of each karanda – from its intricate patterns , shape, and depth to its exact weight, especially important when working with silver. At that time, there was no machinery available , so every piece was handcrafted by him. Carrying forward a legacy of excellence, we proudly present Otari Industries, blending tradition with modernity. Our speciality lies in the Karnda, Ghanti,- a symbol of our rich and timeless tradition. Honouring this heritage, we craft a wide range of artistic products with modern design.
